The Paladin: Shield of Retribution Thorns

Why This Build Works

The Paladin is arguably the weakest class in the game, capping out at around pit 138 clears in both SSF and trade leagues. However, the Shield of Retribution Thorns setup is still worth playing. Shield of Retribution transforms Blessed Shield into a Juggernaut skill, opening up damage synergies and allowing your Blessed Shield to deal thorns damage. This also opens up extra synergies via thorns as an extra multiplier.

How to Play

This is a one-button setup. While you have many skills on your bar, all the other skills are there to buff you and are not massively important when farming. The build is chill, tanky, and fun. It will clear all content in the game without issues. It is one of the most played builds in the game for good reason.

Recommendation

While being the lowest clearing class, I still highly recommend this build. It is chill, tanky, fun, and will clear all content. If you are a casual player, this is a great choice.

The Necromancer: Blood Wave

Why This Build Works

The best Necromancer build is the blood wave setup utilizing Hematolagnia to turn blood wave into a core skill and make it spammable. You then utilize overpower stacks to bust out as much damage as possible while blood wave keeps your stacks maxed out. It is largely the same build as last season, just slightly worse after getting nerfed.

Speed Farming

What is great about this build is that for farming, it is godly. Slap on the new Inexorable Reaper onto your Sever, and you have a permanent teleport. After several years of the Necro being a slow class, it suddenly became one of the fastest classes in the game.

Recommendation

This build is recommended for the masses. While still being the best pushing setup, it is super fast, easy to get started, and you will delete any T12 content with ease.

The Warlock: Mega Lunatic Setup

Why This Build Works

The top Warlock build is the mega lunatic setup using Command Fallen to send out lunatics that kamikaze their way to blow up the screen. The main reason this build is insane is due to the Cage of Madness. This item alone has the highest multiplier in the entire game for a whopping 400% extra damage. It also allows you to transform into a lunatic for additional movement speed.

Additional Synergies

It is also a basic skill, allowing you to benefit from basic skill multipliers. You can also use Metamorphosis, Sigil of Summons, and some extra weird bonuses.

Recommendation

While the class itself is gimmicky and clunky, this build is actually pretty fun to play. It is fairly easy to get online, requiring only a few regular uniques. It is fast and has good clear. If you are looking for a Warlock build, this one will get the job done.

The Spiritborn: Counter Swarm

Why This Build Works

The Spiritborn clocks in at an impressive 148 clears with the counter swarm setup. This is not only the best pushing setup, but you can also make it super fast. It deals insane damage and is decently tanky if built correctly.

How It Works

Counter Swarm uses counter attack to deal damage, not from the skill itself, but via the counter attack of the swarm. This transforms it into a centipede skill while sending out pestilent swarms. Pestilent swarms can deal massive damage because you have a lot of multipliers for poisons and pestilent swarms.

Additional Synergies

Pair it with the Pestilence Aspect to have your swarms spiral and Ring of Ryzen Moon for them to circle around you, making it super easy to wipe out everything around you. After that, it is just about stacking more multipliers. Zip around with Rushing Claw or Evade and have some fun.

Recommendation

This is the first build I would highly recommend everyone to try out on this list. It is fun, fast, and deals fantastic damage. Can recommend.

The Druid: Shred

Why This Build Works

The Druid is in pit and tower 150 territory. The best build of the season is Shred. After years of being absolute dogshit, it is finally the best. The reason is the talisman bonuses. The two set grants you a lot of damage, stacking up the more spirit you spend. The five set allows your storm skills to double and triple cast while also granting them a 500% damage bonus.

Additional Synergies

Transform Shred into a storm skill. Pair that with all the additional synergies you can use for Shred when having it as a storm skill, and items such as Waxing Gibbous, and you are hitting for trillions.

How to Get Started

All you really need to get it online is to grab the mandatory uniques and some spirit regen. No difficult breakpoints to hit. You just play the build.

Recommendation

Definitely a build I would recommend everyone to play at least once before Blizzard hits it with the nerf hammer. It has been OP for two seasons now.

The Sorcerer: Burning Firewall

Why This Build Works

The burning firewall sorcerer invests everything into boosting firewall damage. You drop it on the ground to spawn a ring of fire, allowing all of your other hits to trigger the firewall damage over time. You want to hit enemies as often as possible to trigger the burning, which Blizzard does perfectly.

Additional Synergies

Transform the build into a Blizzard build with extra steps. Scale your damage over time and you have a build.

Recommendation

This is the first build on the list that I would not really recommend for average casual players. It is quite clunky to play, relying on you standing within your firewalls and applying damage over time. However, there are several speed farming variants that are much smoother. For non-pushing players, I would still recommend this build, but play the alternate versions.

The Barbarian: Charge Setup

Why This Build Works

The Barbarian uses the new battering ram passive to transform charge into a fire damage skill. Unfortunately, this skill has a long cooldown. However, using Chain's Purged Mail Pantaloons removes the cooldown, making the skill essentially spammable and granting it additional damage.

Additional Synergies

Playing the fire variant gives you a lot of damage over time multipliers. Slap all of them on at once, pair it with Ramaladni's and fury stacking, and suddenly you are blowing up everything in the game.

Recommendation

This build is fairly difficult to get online due to the different scalers, extra weapons, and mythics required. It is also a bit clunky. If you are a casual player, I would not really recommend it. Instead, play spin to win, as that build is also one of the best builds in the game right now and is the fastest and most braindead one.

The Rogue: Rain of Arrows

Why This Build Works

The Rogue has been dominating the leaderboard with a completely bugged build dealing infinite damage. The bug is supposedly getting fixed, but the damage has already been done. The season is practically over for most people, and the top thousand tower runs were all bugged builds.

For an actual build, the best Rogue build for pushing is Rain of Arrows. It uses fantastic scaling along with marksman skills to deal trillions of damage.

How to Get Started

It takes a bit of gear to get started, as you need a lot of cooldown reduction to lower the cooldown of Rain of Arrows, along with max energy to utilize the beastful boots and preparation for the final cooldown reset of the skill. Once you have everything online, you can hit for hundreds of trillions.

Recommendation

If you do not want to invest time into gearing, the Rogue has a lot of other strong builds that are also clearing upwards of Pit 140. Probably the most diverse class of the season.

Final Thoughts

Diablo 4 Season 14 has a diverse meta with strong builds for every class. The Paladin is the weakest but most chill, the Necromancer is fast and easy, the Warlock is gimmicky but fun, the Spiritborn is highly recommended, the Druid is OP and fun, the Sorcerer is clunky but has alternatives, the Barbarian is difficult to buy Diablo 4 Items gear, and the Rogue is bugged but has alternatives.
